Why Maine Medical Center: I wanted to be at a tight-knit, community-focused hospital with the resources and strong faculty of a larger academic center. Filled with genuine people in the best city in New England, MMC was the perfect fit!

What did you do before medical school: I worked as a CNA at two nursing homes and a hospital
Personal goals: To be a curious and empathetic physician, strong leader, dependable teammate, and reliable partner.
Why Maine Medical Center: I loved the culture here when I did an away rotation during my fourth year of medical school, and I knew it would be a great fit for me! The things that stood out to me were the wide scope of cases we treat due to our large catchment area, the diversity of the patient population, and the program’s mission to serve and advocate for the women of this community. The residents and faculty were encouraging and supportive, and I knew they would help train me to be the best provider I can be.
If I wasn’t a doctor, I would be: Realistically something in public health or health administration, but I would love to learn more languages and be an interpreter or global diplomat.
Favorite restaurant in Portland: There are so many great ones I love, and I honestly have not had a bad meal here! Pai Men, Honey Paw, Tiqa, Benkay

Why Maine Medical Center: I wanted to train somewhere where I could have personal relationships with all the residents and attendings and MMC’s allows for that. MMC also serves a diverse population and large geographic area allowing great breadth of training!
