Our ED was designed with patient comfort in mind, including spacious, private rooms for patients and families. Our goal is to triage patients efficiently, reduce wait time and quickly provide expert treatment. Our experienced care team includes board-certified physicians and specially trained nurses with advanced certifications.
Integrated care
Because we are part of the MaineHealth network of care, specialty care consultations and referrals are quick and easy when needed. Patients with complex trauma or highly-critical conditions may be transferred to MaineHealth Maine Medical Center or MaineHealth Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. Wherever you receive care across the MaineHealth system, our shared electronic medical record system supports care team collaboration and secure online access to your health information.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Our paramedic team provides 24/7 emergency response services as well as volunteer rescue teams. Our licensed emergency vehicle, MC1, is not an ambulance and does not transport patients but has the same Code 3 privileges as an ambulance, fire truck or police car. When called, our paramedic team provides emergency care onsite at the medical emergency location.
Our service area spans from Wiscasset to Freeport and includes Georgetown, Harpswell, Orr's Island, Bailey Islands and Cundy's Harbor. In the case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911.
