Substance Use Disorder Intensive Outpatient Care - Biddeford
MaineHealth Behavioral Health - Main St - Biddeford provides intensive outpatient treatment for substance use disorder in a safe, confidential and supportive environment. Patients meet with a multidisciplinary team in a group setting three times per week. Patients education topics include:
- Introduction to the 12 Steps
- Addiction, recovery and relapse prevention
- Family dynamics
- Self awareness and self esteem
- Social skills and emotional awareness

The MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Biddeford Emergency Department provides 24-hour behavioral health crisis intervention services. A multi-disciplinary team of crisis workers, psychiatric health nurses and security staff will perform a comprehensive assessment of your condition and design a plan to meet your needs. Follow up with community resources, or assistance with hospitalization is provided.

MaineHealth Comprehensive Addiction Medicine - Portland
MaineHealth Comprehensive Addiction Medicine Portland provides outpatient substance use treatment in a safe, supportive, confidential and easily-accessible environment. Our multidisciplinary team includes two physicians board-certified in addiction medicine and family medicine. Our physicians work collaboratively with a compassionate team of specialists to meet the comprehensive needs of SUD patients.
We treat all substance use disorders including alcohol, opioids, stimulants, cannabis and tobacco. Our team will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan based on your specific needs. Services include:

Inpatient Behavioral Health Care – Sanford
The inpatient behavioral health unit at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Sanford provides secure, 24/7 care for adults ages 18-95 in acute psychiatric crisis. Our multidisciplinary team works with patients and families to provide psychiatric care, medical treatment, support, referrals for follow-up care and education.
Services include group therapy, art therapy, medication management and recreational activities. AA meetings are also available. Family members are encouraged to participate in post-discharge care planning and ongoing support. We focus on relapse prevention and follow-up with outpatient community services.
