Rosalind Gold, MD
- Psychiatry
I have been working in the MaineHealth system since 2000 when I moved to Maine with my family. I am primarily located at McGeachey Hall where I see adult outpatients, but I do my on-call work at Spring Harbor Hospital. In 2017, I also became the psychiatrist for the Maine Behavioral Healthcare ACTION Program. I feel fortunate that I have been involved in patient care in multiple settings in the system.
One of my major interest areas is in complex psychopharmacology across a wide range of psychiatric illness. As such, I strive to use medications appropriately, weighing the risks and benefits of treatment in a thoughtful manner to avoid unnecessary polypharmacy while maximizing response to medication. I collaborate with therapists to provide a well-rounded treatment, and I firmly believe that health and wellness is a critical part of successful patient care. I am an active and enthusiastic teacher, involved in both resident and medical student education. In addition to working with the psychiatry residents, I have been involved with training students from the Tufts Medical School for many years. The trainees definitely keep me on my toes and up to date with the literature!
