Four care team members from MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals were recently honored with employee awards during ceremonies held on the hospital campuses.

MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospital Accreditation. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.

As part of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, MaineHealth Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals will be open for CT lung cancer screens as part of National Lung Cancer Screening Day on Saturday, Nov. 9.

In the fight against the disease, MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital (MHPBH) recently installed a new, state-of-the-art mammography machine in its Radiology department in September and, with it, became the first hospital in Maine to begin using new Genius AI Detection (GAID) 2.0 software in scans.
