Application instructions
Applicants who seek appointment to the MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Neurological Surgery residency program should register with the National Resident Matching Program for the main match. We only accept applications through the ERAS electronic application submittal system. Please visit the ERAS website for more information on that process.
Applicants will be selected for interviews after a thorough review of their complete applications. One resident per year is selected through the match.
A complete application includes the following:
- ERAS electronic application form
- Curriculum vitae with statement of personal goals, interests and accomplishments
- Dean's letter
- Three letters of recommendation
- Medical school transcript
- USMLE results
The application review committee holistically reviews each applicant’s file and determines whether or not the applicant will be offered an interview, placed on a waiting list, or not interviewed.
