Why Maine Medical Center: This is a hidden gem of a program with phenomenal training and a great culture. The city of Portland has so much to offer and the people who live here are truly happy. 11/10.
If I wasn’t a doctor, I would be a... race car driver. Without a doubt. Still might be one day.
Favorite restaurant in Portland: Pai Men Miyake. Please go and get one of their pork buns. You’ll thank me.

What did you do before medical school: Completed a Master's Degree at Boston University, then worked as Clinical Research Coordinator in Multiple Myeloma at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA.
Craziest / Best / Worst Job: The best job I ever had was working as a sailing instructor, I was paid to be on the ocean all summer long.
Why Maine Medical Center: The people and general culture of the residency program, the 1-on-1 training environment, excellent surgical training, and the great location in Portland.

What did you do before medical school: I graduated from film school at NYU and spent several years working as a film producer and event planner for an advertising agency in New York City. When I discovered my passion for medicine, I completed a post-baccalaureate pre-medical program at Columbia University and worked in various medical offices before moving to Albany for medical school.
Personal goals: Currently trying to find the best pizza in Portland and become fluent in Spanish.
Why Maine Medical Center: For me it was a combination of the wonderful people at MMC, the excellent surgical training and the opportunity to be close to my family and learn once more from the community that raised me.

Favorite Maine activity: I am looking forward to kayaking and sailing around the Maine coast.
What did you do before medical school: I worked as a loans registrar and courier at a contemporary arts center, responsible for our permanent collection during exhibition around the world. That level of care made me consider the artworks my “patients” and sparked my interest in medicine.
Personal goals: Developing my surgical acumen and travelling to Hawaii which will finalize my goal of visiting all 50 U.S. States.
Why Maine Medical Center: I was drawn to MMC for many reasons, including the team-oriented environment that recognizes that urology has a strong tradition of innovation and technical advancement as well as the excellent surgical volume and emphasis on QI and clinical outcomes.

Funniest Job: I was a standardized patient for the nursing school in undergrad! If you need to voice a toddler with sickle cell anemia, let me know.
Why MMC: The top-notch training environment and incredible culture! During my interview, it was immediately evident that the residents and faculty genuinely enjoy spending time together. The focus here is resident education, and making sure we graduate as confident, capable surgeons with the skill set to practice in any environment.
If I wasn't a doctor I would be…some kind of linguistics analyst.
