More about our services
MaineHealth Behavioral Health provides behavioral health partial hospitalization services for people who are too ill to attend traditional outpatient therapy, but do not require hospitalization. Often, partial hospitalization services help patients transition back into the community after a psychiatric hospitalization. Learn more about our partial hospital program.
Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) combines talk therapy (either individual or group counseling) with medicines that can control cravings and lessen withdrawal symptoms. The medicines help a person feel normal again so they can focus on therapy and help rebuild their life. Learn more about opioid use disorder and MOUD services.
The MaineHealth Behavioral Health intensive outpatient program (IOP) provides intensive substance use disorder therapy services at community treatment centers across Maine. The IOP can be helpful for people who need to balance their recovery journey with daily responsibilities such as work and family. Learn more about the IOP.

The MaineHealth Behavioral Health alcohol withdrawal management program provides personalized assessment and treatment based on the needs of each individual. Patients are evaluated, assessed and provided with treatment recommendations. The next step is stabilization with medical and psychological therapy. A certified addiction psychiatrist may prescribe addiction treatment medications to prevent complications and reduce withdrawal symptoms. Patients attend the program daily and are monitored for withdrawal signs and symptoms.
