  • Biomechanics with custom orthotics and foot wound care in addition to the following:
    • Joint replacements for degenerative joint disease of the foot
    • Forefoot surgery to include, but not limited, surgical correction of bunions and hammertoes
    • Soft tissue procedures to include neuromas, fibromas and ingrown nails
    • Plantar fascial release procedure to reduce immobilization and recovery time

When you have a non-healing or slow healing wound, day to day activities are more difficult. If left untreated, these wounds could cause long term, permanent damage. There are many types of wounds; those associated with complications from diabetes and other related vascular disorders; as well as pressure sores and traumatic wounds including burns and chronic swelling in the lower legs.

The wound care team at Waldo County General Hospital consists of a certified ostomy and wound care nurse and a podiatrist. Each of whom are specially trained to address the specific needs of wound center patients.
