A place to reflect, honor and remember
At MaineHealth Memorial Hospital, we believe in the power of nature to heal, comfort and inspire. Our beautifully restored gardens provide a serene and welcoming space for patients, visitors and care team members to find peace, reflection and respite.
Two gardens, one purpose - healing and connection

The Helen Bigelow Merriman Garden greets visitors with a tranquil courtyard, lush greenery and carefully designed walkways that enhance accessibility. Located at the front of the hospital campus, this space offers a peaceful retreat for reflection and remembrance.

The Maureen Tracy Venti Oncology Healing Garden is nestled beside the oncology wing, providing a quiet sanctuary for cancer patients and their loved ones. Its thoughtful design - including flowers, bushes and shaded seating areas - fosters a sense of calm and support.
A lasting tribute
Both gardens offer a meaningful way to honor or remember someone special through personalized dedications. Whether celebrating a caregiver’s kindness or memorializing a loved one, your gift will be a lasting part of this cherished space.
