Support the future of health care in your community

You may designate your gift to a specific program, make a gift in memory or in honor of a loved one or contribute to our annual fund. We will make sure your gift is used in the way you choose.

Funds and Programs

Your gift to the MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital annual fund supports the purchase of medical equipment and supplies, quality and safety improvements, patient care, and staff development and training at both campuses. Donations also provides funding for those individuals and families in our community who are unable to pay for their care.

A gift to MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital is a wonderful way to honor a family member or friend, remember a loved one, or commemorate a special occasion. When you make a gift you will receive an acknowledgement letter for tax purposes and the honoree receives notification of the gift made in their name. The amount of your gift will not be disclosed.

The MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital nurse training program is offered in partnership with Central Maine Community College (CMCC). This two-year program helps address a critical, state-wide shortage of registered nurses. Funds raised for the nurse training program are used to provide scholarships to deserving students.

Help MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital expand medical education in Maine through the Tufts University School of Medicine Maine Track program.

Maine is a federally-designated physician shortage area which means there are more than 3,500 patients for every physician. Maine hospitals are experiencing physician shortages and the number of health care providers falls far short of meeting community needs.

Medical students are more likely to apply for a residency program and practice medicine where they completed their clinical training. When this program started, 30-40% of the Maine Track students chose to remain in Maine when they graduated. An informal survey of the most recent graduates reported 60% and the ultimate goal is to raise that rate to 75%.

Each year since 2012, two medical students have spent nine months at MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital through the Maine Track program. The program includes: access to an excellent and more affordable education for Maine students; advanced curriculum, a focus on team training within multiple disciplines; and a commitment to developing skills for rural health care.

As a Maine Track Program site, MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital is required to provide housing and meals, onsite supervision and support for visiting medical students, as well as stipends for the physicians and midwives who must become Tufts affiliate faculty to train, mentor and evaluate students. Your gift will help support our efforts to train the next generation of physicians in Maine.

At MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital, compassion and care go hand and hand. If you or a loved one has ever been a patient or resident within our health care system, you may have encountered a care team member or volunteer who went out of their way to make sure that you were comfortable, offered you encouragement or helped you address your concerns. The Grateful Giving program provides patients, their families and friends another way to say “thank you” to a caregiver who made a difference.
