What did you do before medical school: I sold architectural antiques and designed imaging systems for research applications.

Why Maine Medical Center: I was impressed with how close knit and supportive this program was during my away rotation. It instantly felt like home for me and I knew I’d be here for my residency training.
If I wasn’t a doctor, I would probably be a… Naval architect.

Why Maine Medical Center: The people, the area, and the program. Everyone here was really easy going and have similar interests. If you’re a big foodie then this place is for you. Tons of great breweries. Everyone here gets great fellowships.

Why Maine Medical Center: The people are incredible! There is a warm, supportive culture throughout the Radiology Department and across the hospital. People are enthusiastic about teaching. And of course, Maine is a great place to live.

What did you do before medical school: Clinical research in the ophthalmology department at Boston Children's Hospital.

Craziest/Best/Worst Job: As a 17-year-old, I was a manager at BlizzCon and was in charge of 25 employees.
Why Maine Medical Center: The people and learning environment make every day fun and exciting. Everyone is always happy and willing to teach.
Celebrity you most resemble: I've been called Jackie Chan numerous times so I assume there's some sort of resemblance there. My personality resembles Meeko or Rocket Raccoon; unsure if they count as celebrities.
If you weren’t a doctor, you would be: I would probably be an engineer because it seems more fiscally responsible than a pâtissier or nursery worker.

Interests/Hobbies: Surfing, fly fishing, hiking, skiing, camping, basically anything that gets me outside
Favorite place in Maine: Old Orchard Beach in the autumn, when the crowds are out and the swell is in.
Medical interests: Mammography, breast imaging, the diagnosis and management of breast cancer.
Favorite Maine activity: Harvesting apples/pumpkins and getting to try all the new fall ciders and beers with my wife.
What did you do before med school: I studied why Radiologist’s make visual and cognitive errors using eye-tracking.
Why Maine Medical Center: I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to rotate in the department as a fourth-year medical student. The friendly and collegial atmosphere paired with the obvious resident happiness and backdrop of all the things Portland has to offer made choosing MMC the easiest decision of my medical school career.
If I wasn't a doctor, I would be a… Maine fly fishing guide or a limnologist… or both.

How many bikes do you have? 13 in my condo (not all mine!). People told me I couldn’t bike in Maine in the winter – challenge accepted. ! I now own a fat bike with studded tires. Best winter commute ever!
Interests/Hobbies: Anything outside! I love exploring new places on my bike (mostly road or gravel), travel (at least when there’s not a global pandemic), hanging out with my husband, anything on the water, and cooking delicious food.
Favorite Place to Travel: Galway, Ireland
Favorite Place in Maine: Acadia National Park. That said, there are beautiful places that are just a few minutes from Portland –Kettle Cove, Two Lights State Park, Higgins Beach – so many choices!
Favorite Restaurant in Portland: My kitchen! We have access to fantastic local seafood and produce here – the possibilities are unlimited! Still working on my sushi skills….

Why Maine Med? Academic resources with a private practice perspective. Also Portland – there aren’t many residency locations where you can day trip to the White Mountains for a hike one day and sea kayak the next. It’s amazing!
