We have a family-friendly environment because we know that a stay in the hospital can be frightening for kids and families. That’s why we've incorporated family-friendly amenities throughout MHBBCH. These include private patient rooms that can accommodate a parent’s overnight stay, flexible visiting hours, and a parents’ lounge with computer, kitchenette, laundry and bathroom with shower, and children’s play areas.
Our pediatric short stay unit on the main floor of the Coulombe Family Tower also offers private rooms with the same hospital amenities and access to child life specialists.
For parents whose child is hospitalized, we offer an array of thoughtful services, amenities and resources. A parents’ lounge, located off the central atrium, offers:
- Computer with internet access
- Kitchenette
- Laundry area
- Handicapped-accessible bathroom and shower
In addition, we offer:
- A meditation/relaxation room
- A resource library
- A Ronald McDonald rest area that gives families a place for respite that’s not too far away from their child
- Coverage for hospitalized kids so parents can relax and enjoy an adult night out
