MaineHealth Ear, Nose and Throat Care provides expert care for cancers of the head and neck. Our multidisciplinary care team includes head and neck surgeons, otolaryngologists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and prosthodontists.

Our multidisciplinary care team meets on a regular basis to review diagnostic results, discuss treatment options, and determine the best plan of care for our patients. Services include:
- Sophisticated imaging technology and tools to conduct a complete evaluation and ensure an accurate diagnosis
- Chest X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission tomography (PET) scan, barium swallow, endoscopy and biopsy
- Intensity-modulated radiation therapy which enables the delivery of high radiation doses to the cancerous cells in the head and neck, while sparing tissues and organs
- Minimally invasive surgical techniques, when appropriate
- Chemotherapy, including targeted therapies as appropriate

We recognize that cancer treatment can affect many aspects of life and are here to support you physically, emotionally and financially. We have many support services to address the unique needs of patients with head and neck cancers.
Our team includes an oncology dietitian who will assess your current nutritional status, so your can maintain strength through treatment and into recovery. She can also facilitate evaluation by a speech and language pathologist and help manage feeding tubes, if needed.
