Tristen D Ripley, MD
- Family Medicine
I was born and raised in Maine, and I chose to practice medicine here as a way of giving back to the community in which I grew up. I was part of the Maine Track program that prepares medical students to practice medicine in rural settings, and I did my residency in Maine. I have always been committed to staying in this area long-term.
My interest in rural medicine grew out of a volunteer assignment in a medical clinic in Haiti. I learned quickly what it was like to deliver health care in an isolated community with a minimum of supplies. Obviously, the coast of Maine isn’t that rural, and we have ample supplies to deliver the very best health care. But the sense of community and making a difference in peoples’ lives are the same.
