Sarah C Hoffman

As a pediatric sports medicine physician, I focus on sports related issues as well as general musculoskeletal problems from birth to college age. My goal is to help each patient and family safely and efficiently navigate the best course to recovery and full participation in sports and life in general. As a pediatrician, I am happy to be back in my home state of Maine providing care focused on the growing athlete and child, which is often very different than adults. My residency training in pediatrics and fellowship training in sports medicine focused on pediatric non-surgical orthopedic problems, sports injuries and prevention. Time away from sports and play with an injury or pain often has a significant impact on the well-being of young athletes, children and their families and my top priority is to keep your young athlete or child active, pain free and doing what they love.

I also have the privilege of caring for pediatric patients at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital as a pediatric hospitalist. In this role, my focus is helping your child feel better. Being admitted to the hospital or being in the emergency room is often a very stressful experience for children and their families. While my priority is to properly diagnose and treat your child, I also strive to make your child feel comfortable and understood. Explaining what to expect and how to support your child through their illness is also essential to their improvement and overall health.
