Nicole L Mizner, PNP
- Nurse Practitioner, Pediatrics
Nicole grew up in Maine and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine in 2001. After graduation, she was hired by the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Maine Medical Center where she cared for some of the most critically ill newborns in the state for 8 years, five of those as a transport nurse, stabilizing and transporting sick neonates from outlying areas throughout Maine. Because of her excellent skills and interest in caring for children with congenital heart disease, Nicole became the primary neonatal nurse assigned to infants born with structural heart problems. A relationship of mutual respect and trust was born with the congenital heart team that supervised the care of these babies. Nicole subsequently went on to obtain her Masters of Science in Nursing from Stony Brook University in 2009 and was immediately hired as the first Pediatric Cardiology nurse practitioner in the state of Maine. Nicole has been a vital member of the Congenital Heart team caring for patients admitted to Maine Medical Center as well as evaluating patients in the outpatient setting in our Scarborough office.
