Dr. Michael Roberts is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in primary and complex revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He completed a fellowship in adult reconstruction and joint replacement surgery at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he had extensive training in the muscle-sparing anterior approach to the hip, robotic hip and knee replacement, partial knee replacement, as well as complex primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery.
Dr. Roberts is passionate about improving the quality of life and mobility of his patients. He believes that a relationship between a patient and their joint replacement surgeon is a lifelong one. He takes pride in spending as much time as necessary with his patients to understand their needs and partner with them to create personalized nonsurgical and surgical treatment plans. He is committed to being a compassionate physician and skilled surgeon and is grateful for the opportunity to help patients in with their hip and knee pain.
Dr. Roberts grew up in Boulder, Colorado and earned his bachelor's degree with honors in biology and economics from the University of Miami. He attended medical school at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Vermont and his fellowship in total joint replacement surgery at Harvard Medical School's Brigham and Women's Hospital. He and his wife are thrilled to be a part of the Maine community and close to family and friends.
