I decided I wanted to be a physician when I was 9 years old after reading a book about Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, the first female physician in the United States. I was drawn to medicine because I wanted to help others. Even after being in practice for more than 10 years, I am amazed that I play such an important role in the lives of children and their families. I work with my office team to provide evidence-based, quality care for all my patients. I strive toward having an open dialogue with patients and families about medical decision making. I am a strong advocate for vaccinations and appropriate use of antibiotics. I am honored to take care of children from birth through young adulthood.
I am an advocate for oral health for children. I have a specific interest in the role healthy eating and exercise play in overall health. I am also interested in safety; childproofing for toddlers, safety equipment for children and risk-taking behaviors for teens.
Outside of my office, I love spending time with my family. My husband, twin daughters and I enjoy traveling and are avid Disney fans. I like to listen to audiobooks and I hope to write a book in the future. I enjoy working out and completed my third sprint triathlon in the summer of 2018.
