I have been delivering care in the Portland area and beyond for more than 10 years. My training included internal medicine residency, chief resident, cardiology fellow and cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. My research interests are identification and treatment of ventricular arrhythmias across a wide range of patient populations. Those interests have continued to grow at MaineHealth where I not only have a robust practice in treatment and ablation of atrial fibrillation, but also participate in the growth of our ventricular arrhythmia treatment program.
Identifying and treating patients with cardiac arrhythmias is rewarding and challenging. I think the goal across the health care spectrum is to educate our patients on what they have, identify risk factors they can modify, and then educate and review the treatment options so that they can pick the most appropriate option that aligns with their ideals and goals.
