Christina M DeMatteo, DO

I work in a number of different areas within the MaineHealth system, including hospital medicine, infectious disease, preventive medicine and harm reduction. My job allows me to experience and contribute to the full spectrum of health care, from personal health to public health. I believe that the health of both the individual and our community requires addressing upstream causes of illness, advocating for changes that lower barriers to care, and maintaining open, honest communication between patients, providers and organizations. I enjoy educating people about health issues in ways that empower them to make their own best decisions. I have a master's degree in public health.
