MaineHealth has chosen a practicing primary care physician with a history of leadership in quality and safety as its next Chief Medical Officer for the health system’s Southern Region, which includes MaineHealth Maine Medical Center’s Portland, Biddeford and Sanford campuses.
Richard Bayman, who has expertise as an advisor to not-for-profit health systems, will succeed Al Swallow, who is retiring after 30 years with MaineHealth.
Previously associate vice president for philanthropy at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center, Erin Brown will lead MaineHealth’s new system-wide development team.
