Commitment to Quality
MaineHealth Memorial Hospital’s quality program methodically measures the performance of the hospital system and identifies opportunities for improvement. We apply a standardized approach to prioritizing opportunities for improvement. There is continuous activity throughout the hospital focused on improving the quality of care and service we provide to our community.
Every department participates in quality improvement activities and identifies its key processes, develops metrics for them, identifies comparable bench-marking information and then uses analysis to identify opportunities for improvement. The metrics can be the commonly recognized quality improvement indicators that are widely available. As each department prioritizes its quality improvement opportunities, it continuously plans and executes interventions aimed at improving the performance of the process.
Patient Experience Scores
MaineHealth Memorial Hospital conducts extensive and on-going patient experience surveying through National Research Corporation (NRC). Patients complete surveys after visiting the hospital or its practices. Based on these surveys, NRC not only measures patient experience, they also provide comprehensive improvement solutions based on evidence-based best practice recommendations. This process allows for quality improvement and helps providers and our practices achieve successful patient-centered care environments.
